Integrated Tax Solutions Updates
NOTES FOR US THIS YEAR:
Tax Payments: The IRS now requires all payments to be made electronically. New this year; we offer automatic withdraw of tax payments through our e-filing system. If you elect this option, please provide us with the “requested” payment date prior to filing your return.
Website – We will continue to be directing clients, referrals, as well as financial professionals to our site as a central resource for your tax needs. You can access your tax portal, tax forms, links to helpful tax resources, annual updates, access to financial advisors, and more all from our website.
Post CardsĀ – In our continued efforts to keep your costs low, we are sending out postcards directing everyone to our new website where you can find your Engagement Form, Information Disclosure Form, and a link to your portal with your Annual Tax Organizer. Please print, sign, and bring the Engagement Form and Information Disclosure form with your tax documents as you normally would. The Annual Tax Organizer is a useful tool that we have made readily available to anyone who chooses to use it. Please note: the organizer is not required to be completed as are the Engagement Form or Information Disclosure.
Submission of Documents – There are 2 preferred methods: physical drop off of original documents or upload your documents to your secure portal. We do accept mailed in documents; however, advise that the security and timeliness of the mail can be questionable and is out of our control. If you have any questions about your portal, please call our admin staff for assistance. (314-446-0425)
Timeliness of Submission – Returns are completed in the order they are received. Completeness of files received and your responsiveness to document requests will impact processing times. Document requests will be sent via email to eliminate phone tag and forgotten items. Files completed or received after April 5th will incur an additional 15% rush fee. Returns that are extended due to late submission of documents will also incur a 15% upcharge.
E-File Authorization Form (Form 8879) – This form must be signed and returned before we can file your return. We request that you sign and return this form immediately upon reviewing and validating your return. Taxes owed are not due until the tax deadline regardless of when we file your return; however, if there are issues that would otherwise cause a rejected filing we need time to address these. Last minute filers risk missing the filing deadline by signing and returning the e-file form in the last weeks of the season.
Fee Payment – We accept cash, check, ACH pull from your bank, and credit cards (5% transaction fee applies to credit cards). You can find a payment form for ACH or credit card authorizations at www.itaxstl.com/forms. Payment is required prior to e-filing your return.
Delivery of Returns – When your return is completed, you will receive an email notification. A digital copy will be available in your portal. A hard copy will be available for pick up at our front desk. Out of town clients will receive a mailed copy via USPS 2-Day Priority. Please note, in our experience 2-Day Priority shipping can take anywhere from 2 days to a month. We encourage our out-of-town clients to make use of their portal for timely delivery, processing, and filing of your return.
